Have you ever been to a cemetery that completely freaked you out? Well, I have one of those in my hometown that's not even five minutes away from where I live. It's been "Graniteville Cemetery" from the beginning. It was founded somewhere around 1850 and is known for the famous grave site of, "The Little Boy", several unmarked graves of babies and adults, it's "eeriness" that makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up and many other things.
I have family buried here including, my grandfather, my aunt, and three of my cousins so, it's no hidden secret to me. I visit this cemetery often and I find peace with just going and sitting up there, whether it's to talk to my grandfather or someone on the historical side that I know nothing about. It has it's stories though, that's for sure.
The first story is of "The Little Boy". Apparently, he came here on a train back in 1855 which stopped in Graniteville and just so happened to be a stowaway. The residents of Graniteville put him in a room at Graniteville Hotel where they were hoping to find out the little boy's name but, were never successful. He remained unconscious and eventually died. For almost 163 years, visitors and residents have visited this tombstone and left toys for the little boy. Here is a picture of his tombstone originally :

The reason for it having to be redone was due to the original tombstone cracking and eventually breaking in half. Everyone always brings toys and puts them at the little boys grave site. It is said, that at that at times, you can hear a little boy laughing and you will notice that toys will be taken away and old toys that haven't been seen in a long time will somehow appear back at the grave site. Some have also said to have see an apparition of a little boy around the grave site. This section all in itself just looks creepy. The trees have moss hanging off of them and as soon as you get to this side of the cemetery, you feel as though eyes are watching you.
The next story is of a woman who was apparently dying of an illness that could be contracted just from touching her. She was buried with her bed because of this reason. According to some, she was buried with a great deal of money too. This however, hasn't been a known fact and there's no evidence behind this accusation to say that it's true. Her grave site is still in shambles today.
There has also been word that a witch walks the grave yard while no one is around and places flowers onto the graves of all the children. Like I say, I've lived here my whole life and I just recently discovered this whenever I was doing some research.
